THE REGION
It lies on the left bank of the Rubicone stream until the west border of the Rimini province.
The most typical area covers the municipalities of Longiano and Roncofreddo between 60 and 200m asl where the soil is ochre-coloured (mixes of clay and sporadic sand) not too deep and medium calcareous.
Above the line of the ravines in the southernmost part of the sub-area, the altitude rises and exceeds 300m asl, and sandstone reappears (Monteleone).
The eastern boundary of the sub-area is close to the municipality of Savignano where hills are very gentle, the soil medium fertile and the climate is strongly affected by the sea.
THE WINES
The wines have a markedly rich-fruity timbre, with an outstanding calling to especially express youth or medium ageing. the best interpretations, often in medium ageing are also enriched by mineral and soily notes, supported by fine tannins.
